This will be more than 5 photos for Day 4. Day 4 was the day we realised how beautiful most of Iceland can be. Even a drive around a location that isn’t on the usual guidebooks can yield wonders that do literally take your breath away, such as the ones here.

We stayed in a villa in the Hotel Glymur, by the shores of Hvalfjordur. The villa included our own geothermal hotpot, which was always set at 40 degrees celcius,  allowing us to enjoy the sunrise – even if it was 2 degrees outside.

3. Driving into a valley along the Dragavegur. That morning, we just decided to drive around near the hotel, having little idea what we’d see. The road quickly turned to gravel and there was no-one else on the road for most of the morning. Therefore, when we would drive towards sights like this, we could just stop the car in the middle of the road and enjoy.

4. Living in the Middle of Stunning. While driving along that particular road, then up along Route 52, we saw two houses where I think a lot of people would struggle to leave in the morning.

5. The Swing Set of your Dreams. This house, besides being in a fantastic setting, also features a swing set. One could imagine a child using the swing set, being inspired by the surrounding countryside.

Part 2 of this will come along in the next post.
